Here at the Great Plains Welsh Heritage Centre in Wymore, Nebraska, we are excited to announce plans for the addition of a 2,200 square-foot exhibit space. Over the years our collection has continued to grow thanks to generous donations from across the United States, Canada, Wales and beyond. Now, the enthusiasm of the hundreds of visitors we welcomed to our museum and archive during the recent North American Festival of Wales has inspired us to take the next step in telling the story of the Welsh people on the Great Plains and throughout North America. In this new space, we will be able to exhibit many more of the unique and historic items entrusted to our care, as well as expanded interpretive displays. Along with the current facility, the completed addition will provide a showcase of Welsh ethnic history and culture that will raise the profile of the Welsh both within the United States and internationally.

Our board of directors has already conducted a feasibility study resulting in the rendition of the expanded facility shown above. We hope to begin construction in 2024, but we need your generous support.

We are seeking to raise $175,000 to build this addition. Any contribution, large or small is appreciated, and all donor names will be displayed in a place of honor in the finished addition. We also will be writing grants to support this major project.
